The Chapter and Auxilliary just wrapped up a four day event at Columbus Park. Thank you to all the members that volunteered their time, especially Sir Gerald and Marge Rohde. Information about the next volunteer day will be posted soon.
2.24.03 On February 13th members from LeRoy's Auxilliary attended the Airman Leadership School graduation at the Officer's Club on base. President Ronda Smith and Vice-President Acacia Batten represented the Chapter and Auxilliary in honoring the graduates. For further information on the dinner, please contact Acacia Batten.

Sir Gerald Rohde visited the Veterans Hospital on Valentine's Day. Sir Rohde spent time visiting various departments and wings, as well as distributing carnations and valentines. For further info, contact Sir Gerald Rohde.
2.03.03 Sir Gerald Rohde attended the Four Chaplains' Memorial Service on Sunday, February 2nd. The ceremony was held at Kino Veteren's Memorial Park in honor and memory of Reverand George Lansing Fox, Reverand Clark Poling, Father John Washington, and Rabbi Alexander David Goode. The four chaplains gave their lives in February, 1943, by selflessly giving their life jackets to others as their ship sank. For any further information on the ceremony, contact Sir Gerald Rohde.
1.29.03 The January meeting was held at the Wilmot Library. The Chapter and Auxilliary discussed the Airman Leadership School banquet dinner on February 13th, 2003. Acacia Batten will possibly attend the dinner on behalf the the Chapter and Auxilliary. Sir Gerald Rohde informed the Chapter of the "Letter of Thanks" we received from Gene Overstreet of International. Spanish Trail and LeRoy's each are going to donate to the VAVS for the Patient Carnival. Once again, the Chapters will be selling concessions at the Cactus Choppers event. The dates of the event are March 20th-23rd, 2003. Volunteers are needed. Please contact the Chapter to offer your time.
Sir Herb Rogers presented 2002's Super Saxon Merit Awards to the following members:
Sir Gerald Rohde, Lady Marge Rohde, Sir Herbert Rogers, Sir Hank Rogers, Nancy Rogers, Ruthanne Rogers, Shari Rohde, and Acacia Batten. Ronda Smith and Linda Westby also will receive certificates, but were not present to at the meeting.
Sir Gerald Rohde will be visiting the VA hospital on February 14th in honor of National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Day. He will also be donating 40 Valentine's Day carnations on behalf of the Chapter and Auxilliary. Thank you to Lady Marge Rohde for generously donating her time in decorating the carnations.
Also discussed were the donations at Christmas for the Military Lounge at Tucson International Airport. Sir Gerald Rohde, Ronda Smith, Linda Westby, and Pam Eberlein donated their time to spend with servicemen and women travelling through Tucson. The Chapters donated home-made cookies provided by Lady Marge Rohde, sodas, provided by Sir Herb Rogers, as well as helped to deliver pizza and sandwiches to various locations. On the table for discussion at the next meeting is the possibility of taking on another concession sales opportunity. Also, CMSgt Harper suggested the Chapters consider purchasing a banner for the concession trailer. Shari Rohde agreed to look into the matter.
The 2002 winner of the Letters to the Front contest were: Local Winner is Melissa Hendrickson. Melissa's letter was sent on to the national Letters to the Front competition, and Sir Gerry Rohde presented her with an originial NCOA hat. Honorable mention also goes to: Natasha Osorio, Matthew Harris, and Catherine Shaw, all Buena High students; Christina Foglia, Luz Alvarez, and Indira Acosta, all Nogales High Students. All the participants are congratulated for their effort. Congratulations Melissa, and GOOD LUCK in the national contest!!!

SCCA Slolams Info
As many of you know, our main source of income is through consession sales at the SCCA and Corvette Club slaloms. These races are held at the drag strip near the fairgrounds. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Sir Gerry Rohde at 520-885-3932.
